Seems bizarre to me that so many blues are replying to him and begging him to stay.

Of course they can. Only thing he´s entitled to is his wage. The club has no other obligation to him, including letting him use the patch of grass he wants to train on.

He's said he's joining Spurs in January, isn't interested in Everton getting a fee for him and he's lost all affinity to his boyhood club.
