What we do know is that Ross was the only player called out in public.
Also given a public ultimatum despite numerous players being in a similiar contract position, causing him to be dropped too.

Indeed.

Koeman is a man in his mid 50s so he is no spring chicken.

To put it in context, he is about the same age as Jose whom seems to have been around forever and both Pep and Conte are in their mid 40s and Klopp has just turned 50.

IMO Ronald is now in Moyes territory.

This is as good as it is going to get for him and to move to a mega club would carry a very real risk of not ending well for him.

I honestly believe Ronald has now started embracing this club and is genuinely excited about the "project".

There is no reason now why we cannot envisage him being here for the next decade or the best part of it, watching the club grow on the pitch, move to the new stadium and start winning silverware along the way.

A few months ago I could not see him being here beyond the three years of his contract.....now I think he will be here for at least another five to ten years (unless we totally tank on the pitch).
I think Koeman will manage a mega club at some point but just because of the rate they go through managers. He will prob manage them for a season and win a cola del Rey.

Who else that Ron wanted to keep was in a similar contractual situation?

That really answers the question 'tell me something I don't know!'

Two mangers with different approaches have tried with him. He's had the carrot and the stick, neither have worked. Better to sell.
