Ross Barkley

You were doing well up until that point,iv never seen a midfielder lose possession so much as Ross did in the recent derby!virtually every time he was given the ball,he lost it.
You're talking about the one game out of about 13/14 since the turn of the year in which he had a stinker, along with the rest of the team that day. Totally disregard all the other games why don't you. Don't they fit your agenda?

That's the problem with Ross. Because he is literally our one and only creative player Everton tend to play well when he does, and vice versa. So he generally gets the blame when we don't play well. Some fans expect too much of him and if he plays below that expectation then he tends to get hammered.

Very sly dig from Mark Lawrenson in his weekly predictions...

Everton v Burnley

Burnley beat Everton at Turf Moor in October thanks to a last-minute goal but it is going to be extremely tough for them to repeat that on Saturday.

Since suffering their only home league defeat of the season, against Liverpool in December, the Toffees have won seven league games in a row at Goodison Park, scoring 26 goals and conceding five.

I think Everton's excellent run will continue - and maybe Ross Barkley will deliver the knockout blow.

Lawro's prediction: 2-0

Sting & Joe's prediction: 2-1
Ha. Missed that.

I think I was so shocked that he actually predicted us to win:)

Ross Barkley's mixed race background is hardly a secret...its been in the National press on a number of occasions over the last four years. Theres really no excuse for a National newspaper editor to be unaware of it...let alone the newspaper's sub editors who have to red pen any contentious points prior to going to press. Its naïve to suggest that McKenzie wouldn't know...let alone his subs.

So exactly when were these earth shattering performances since the turn of the year,im struggling a bit!where was he before Xmas?
Why don't any of the coaches with England rate him or have they got their own agendas as well!

You took a pop at Anderson before decrying Mackenzie, and you took the stance that you did know there was no implied racism
He's actually said:

"Not only is it racist in a sense that he is of mixed-race descent, equally it's a racial stereotype of Liverpool."

So he did portray being from Liverpool as a race.

Sake Dave.
He's a newspaper editor , doesnt it go with the territory to do background checks before you go with a story.
Totally unsavoury , he should be brought to task for this.
You expected an editor of that rag to look for facts first and publish later?

Isn't that giving that rag more credit than what we know they are capable of in the first place?

Joe Anderson jumping on the band wagon like the top class Blert he is and all the oversensitive sheep are all over it.

Far from a fan of uncle joe, but to gauge the reaction look at the cause, mackenzie ffs. That isn't oversensitive sheep reacting. I have no idea of your background but are you aware that to a lot of people in and from the city the fact that odious blurt still breathes is offensive? At what point is it acceptable?

no mate he's stereotyping Liverpudlians, completely different. Myself, I'm not sure if the racist undertones were intended but that's irrelevant - a professional 'reporter' should know better, plus the entire story is rubbish anyway.

No, that gives them a get out clause of diminished responsibility, a cop out like a bang to rights murder case. Think they aren't capable of checking and then saying sod it we need the clickbait?
