Ross Barkley

Thanks @Bungle , appreciate the inclusion, I usually only browse in the evenings so might miss a lot of the traffic. I do hope Barkley stays and we get Zaha and Mahrez in as well! Can see him moving to London to get away from all this drama though.

I don't think moving to London would solve an issue like the one that's just occurred though, if he tries it on with someone elses bird in a bar in London he's likely to get the same result.

I just think we need to cut him a bit of slack and not dive on him for every little thing. I'm fairly sure some fans would love us to stock the squad with players like Shane Long so they could drool over how much he ran in a game, you have to be deluded if you think someone like him is the future.

I seem to get the impression, and I could be wrong but Koeman isn't all that gung hoe about signing him. He has said that if Ross doesn't sign he will be sold. That's like take what we offer you and like it.
Hope it's more that that.

The lurkers are having a go at you today.

I think he is gone myself, they say Rom has 2 years so it's not urgent then they should be working hard to give Ross a good deal. The managers comments don't even sound like they've offered one, so they either don't actually want to keep him or they know he's off. If he goes that shows me how much ambition we have, a lad who is improving month by month and a massive influence on our games will be binned off so we can throw million on some foreigner we've probably never heard of who might or might not do a good job.

Just wish the club would resolve this, it's too frustrating the thought of losing 2 of our best players in 1 window. Rom is 70% likely to leave so tie Ross up ffs.

Part of me thinks this has Kenwrights grubby paws all over it- remember how he would only sign players later in the window as to save wages? Wouldn't be shocked if he's counting the extra 60k a week we are saving by not tieing Ross onto a new £120k a week deal til July.

Lot of envy as well that a young lad with millions goes out and knobs anything that moves whilst they're trying to earn enough gems to buy the next piece of their virtual girlfriend.

This thread really has saddened me as I thought we were better than this.
lollollol boss that.

2014

"why did you want to sign to stay here longer?"

RB: "Cos I've been here all my life. And it just, it feels like home. You know, signing a new contract, it's a big thing and I'm a young lad, and I've got a lot of things to accomplish and achieve and hopefully and get better as well for Everton"

"what is it about Everton and the club that makes it think it's the best place for you?"

RB: "Being a local lad, and playing for your local team that you support, it's just a great feeling, isn't it? And every time you sign a new contract with the club, you get a great feeling"

Ross Barkley will stay!
