Ross Barkley

Let's face it we save our worst two performances of the season against Liverpool. Think it's a mental thing with the whole team. We also played too many kids today, Mirallas should have played from the start, more shape and pace.

As poor as he was today he was the only player trying to make something happen - something no one else was doing. He wasn't helped at all by his teammates.
Not for me, he killed our attacks over and over. Therefore Lukaku saw nothing, when th ball wasn't bouncing off him that is

Somewhere in the annals, I wrote that Ross plays like a kid playing three-and-in, a point many here disagreed with, so it was interesting to hear Souness in his post match summing up describing him as 'a kid in the playground'. I don't often agree with former RS types, but today, I can't disagree. He just seems to have stagnated.

The effort was there, but he just wasn't focused. The occasion got to him.

It felt like one of his performances at Goodison last season where the crowd were getting on his back.

Just praying he turns it around but he's really struggling to hit that consistency. Needs to grab ahold of the big games.

Compare with Sigurdsson's Anfield performance for Swansea and you have to think whether Koeman would replace Barkley with a player like him without much debate.

Think it was the first time I've ever watched Barkley have a poor game but not drop in confidence. Normally he goes to bits, did have a spell of about 5mins where he slipped a few times and made a few poor passes but he generally kept his head up and kept going.

Mirallas must have been carrying a knock why would he not start ? He was only given 10 minutes and was one of our only players to cause a threat.

I normally support and fight for RB, but he was truly awful today. I honestly dont know if he is a good player with the potemtial to be great or will continue to disappoint when it really matters
