Ross Barkley

Ross was class today, great energy and ball retention. He was creative and busy. Wanted the ball and was the architect of many of the things we did well today.
Thought the crowd were a bit more supportive today. Anyone at the game confirm this?

Nope some blurts on his back still for daring keeping hold of the ball instead of giving it away.

Barkley got a standing ovation when he went off, so yeah, a little more supportive

Just like with Davies playing next to him, put someone in the team who is a genuine top level creative player in the final 3rd and he will perform at a higher level.

Ross will create the odd goal and pop up with the odd one himself but the way he controlled the play after we took the lead is what he could offer more regularly just by adding someone who can offer what we lack in the final 3rd, would also bring the best of Lukaku and we have been crying out for that type of player for years.

if he plays like that more consistently no one can moan, i've been critical of him i just want him to be the player he can be at us at a consistent basis, keep it up Ross.

I've been told by a few people who are in and around the game he has issues with our fans, he is a fan himself but apparently he is always worried about how he is seen by our fan base. That is a worrying trait but something that with time and consistency can be removed from him.

Get a goal against leicester please!

There was a moment in the second half after we scored, him and Davies were exchanging a couple of passes and the crowd actually started to fume.

Don't really understand our fans. You've got some on here who demand Barcelona style football and then you've got plenty who go the game who aren't happy unless every pass is played forward at a ferocious intensity.

Anyway, he was brilliant today. Made up for him as always.

I get the same feeling.

We could have Denis Bergkamp working magic on the pitch but because hes not flying into tackles or going 100% they'd rage.

Needed patience today. We had it and won.
