Ross Barkley

If you think our fans our a joke, you are in a dark place. The fans ARE the club and the club IS the fans. Without the fans it's just a bunch of overpaid young men kicking a bag of air round a field.
Furthermore if you are holding up a snidey RS , who actually hates our fans and our club, can I respectfully suggest Everton might not be the club for you after all.
Or you could just accept that across our mass of Evertonians ,some might just not agree with you ,it's not a crime.

Thanks for your advice mate.

Notice that it's OK to openly criticise all things Everton but when Neville criticised Karius they closed ranks. That criticism was clearly valid given that he has since been passed over for Mignolet.

Thats called support, I wish our fans and ex pros would do the same some times.

Mirallas deserves to be sold IMO... Lennon hasn't played much but works hard for the team.... del hasn't played and looks like he's about to leave and bolasie has set up more chances than anyone else in the squad.. ( I think he's crap tho and don't want him in the side).... so the players you are comparing him to are just as bad as ross... but they all work harder than he does.

But harder doesnt mean better.

Ross covered more ground than anyone in the team in the derby, yet he was poor because we were too busy scrapping for the ball we forgot to go and attack.

I'm sure if you looked at the distance and tackles in Barkley's game this season compared to previous, it'll be way higher. But everything else will have dropped.

That will be the same for most of the squad.

Another super blue

Hi, just popped in to see if the Everton chapter of the SlippyG fan club , have received any further instructions on how I should act in the event of Barkley playing today?
Thanks in advance . :)

I actually know too many Evertonians who make a point of getting on Barkley's back to dismiss the point.

I've been saying similar for a long time. As a collective fan base we do not positively support players through difficult times. Many of us boo and jeer as the default.

The same is true of the atmosphere at Goodison. If something aggressive happens on the pitch then we collectively swing behind the players. Otherwise they are as liable as the opposition to get abuse.

The amount of really angry, entitled wools in the Upper Gwladys by me this season has been rather irritating. Two minutes in to a match and they are screaming blue murder.

Our away fans are different thankfully in the main.

The reason Barkley takes the flak he does is that when he isn't producing runs at the defence, he seems to think he has no other duties on the field? If we had a better team, we could afford that, but we don't, so we cannot afford it! When Barkley doesn't turn up, we are effectively playing with ten men. That is what attracts the flak his way.

So you don't think his work rate is different this season versus last season

I mean whenever things aren't going their way the players I have mentioned work harder... they don't just amble around the pitch... ross is the king of pretending to press... he jogs over to players and never puts a tackle in.. the corner that hull got for their goal came from them havin to much time to pass the ball around and set the rb off down the line ... ross was stood there watching them do it. We should have defended the corner and I'm not blaming him... but that is the sort of thing he does all the time. And out of all the people on the pitch in the derby I would say ross has the most reason out of everyone to cover ground and put a shift in.. he's blue
