Ross Barkley

I have a slight concern in regard to the Everton future of Ross Barkley; if we are going to splash out £50 million an Van Dyke and we need £10 mill for Lookman and probably £20 + mill for a midfielder, where is the money coming from.
We only have Barkley or Lukaku worth the sort of money we would need to finance these deals even if the rumours of a £50 mill transfer kitty are true.

Barkley and Del this window with Lukaku leaving in the summer

End of the day a blue or not, he gets paid a small fortune and is not performing at the moment. He has to expect some criticism coming his way. Like any job if your not doing it to the standard expected, someone will be saying something. He is also not a kid anymore, as like you said he is 23. People seem to let Barkley off because of his age yet seem to forget Lukaku is 23 as well. I want Barkley to come good but unfortunately he has gone backwards recently. Hopefully things will change soon otherwise what do you do apart from sell him for decent money.
The big question is why has he gone backwards? People are not giving him a chance Ross is a luxury player like, Stevie G, Ya ya etc I could go on. So enjoy embrace when he "only works for 30/40% of the game" in that time he can, will win you games. Rafael GH all tried to game SG into a 10 but they all realised that he needed face the play and run at teams to be at his best. We all remember the noise made about the so called Riquelme transfer yet when we have a Riquelme type player we slate him, just play him in his natural position, watch, embrace, enjoy the Riquelme of wavertree

He has had plenty of chances. How many chances can you keep giving someone. I still hope he gets another chance to prove himself but how long do you go for? He hasn't been winning us games recently though has he? He is nothing compared to Riquelme at the moment. He possibly could be but what has he done so far for you to say he is or will be?

He has played over 150 games with 25 goals for us so yeah you could say he has had plenty of chances but not in his proper/natural position. Give him some games as a 6 not as a 10 and see what happens.

Not be good against RS but corner for Williams against Arsenal, pass to Lukaku vs Leicester (admittedly Lukaku did most of the work himself but it it was a good pass), set Lukaku up for the shot he hit the bar with, equaliser vs Hull. Can't remember if he contributed to our second versus Watford, he was only on for 25 replacing Gueye. He is contributing at the moment imo but whether he is reaching his potential or even near it is different I suppose. I think he can do more....same for most of them really ......
