When Barkley was in his best form during his first season and getting linked to all the big clubs Gerrard came out and said he should stay at Everton and what a big deal it is to play for your local boyhood club. What was his agenda back then ?

Since Koamen came out and criticised him on his performances in the effort department he's improved he had also lost his England place well before Koamen gave him a left hoof up the derriere . And he needed too along with many others, we were on the slide.
Time will tell over the coming months, however, I'm more positive now than I was several weeks ago with Barkley and Everton.
