Ross Barkley

'Been inconsistent of late'

When has he ever been consistent? Some people have some kind of false memory syndrome with this kid.

He was consistent for about two thirds of last season, maybe not consistently amazing but consistently good with the odd average match here and there

And I bet you can't wait for this to happen so you can tell everyone you were right.

Personally I'll take the opinion of a few ex pros who have played at the highest level than some angry man who sits in the Lower Gwladys spouting bile.

Lol, you don't know the first thing about me so don't presume to know you do.

And for the future; I would always take the opinion of an Evertonian who has watched the lad every game for years and wanted him to succeed, over a dj bashing bitter red who despises the club and our fans and would take any opportunity to have a go at us.

Surround him with better players and more energy, see how he does.

We dont need the money, we would be strengthening a rivals squad and we need to sell the deadwood first. If, after all the deadwood is gone, we think we can replace Ross with better quality then im all for it.

Why sell Ross to replace with (supposed) better quality then still rely on Gibson and Cleverley as backup - we need a strong squad to challenge for anything.

We heard all this nonsense with Stones.

If Gerrard had to watch Barkley try and play football every week for the past 2 years he'd probably agree with us.

He made a great point though in that who has been consistent within our side over the last two years?

I thought Gerrards comments were spot on.

You're letting your blind hatred for Liverpool cloud your judgement. You're referring to one ex player there when it's several ex top level professionals who are in agreement.

It's probably a big conspiracy to get the fans to turn on each other, I mean we do pose a big threat to Liverpool don't we?

And we wonder why that lot call us bitter.

I sm referring to him because you posted an article praising his views slagging our fans.

All my points still stand: if we want to be the team everyone aspires to, Barkley isn't good enough. Alongside a whole lot of our current squad.

In my opinion we will never become the team we aspire to be largely due to the fans' 'woe is me' /glass half empty mentality.

I agree we need to buy Messi,Neymar and the similar calibre type players

In the real world though, we have to build on what we have, and like it or not Barkley is integral to this rebuilding

But don't forget we are Everton and there are many other clubs out there who are far more desirable than us, so building is not a quick fix
