Ross Barkley

I think what people don't understand is that he was one of us standing sorry seating in goodison supporting Everton and now he is one of the players but in his heart like all of ours he is still supporting Everton wanting and willing them on to win. RB has vision and is one of the most gifted technical players we have and wants to drive on up the field and score a goal for HIS team but the players beside him aren't good enough to lace his boots. He is seeing things in the game that none of the rest of the players are, It is like baines and pinnear when they were at their best they could see the game develop, Ross can see it develop but the rest can't. Yes his confidence is low and would you blame him, playing out of position, booed by the same people he sat with in goodison and now being in the media every day through his managers comments or the supports comments. I think 6 months on loan with Hull, Swansea or a championship side would do him the world of good especially if giving regular football playing in the number 6 role. So can EVERY blue get behind Ross and start helping and supporting him and he will reward us BIGTIME. Now rant over, sorry

Literally couldn't be less arsed what Slippy thinks about us or our players.

Barkley has been a first team player for four years now. He had a manager who licked his hoop before this one who criticizes him. He was just as poor last season too.

He's not some teenager having his first few games, he's the same as every other player.

Honestly mate I don't think he has it spot on at all. There is no toxic atmosphere surrounding Ross, the lad has almost everything he needs in place including his own talent for him to become a massively successful midfielder. I see it as an excuse used by others for him because he seems to be struggling slightly stepping up a gear and becoming the player we need him to become... one who takes a game by the scruff of the neck and wins games for us regularly.

This will more likely happen when better players are around him and we stop playing like statues. Most of the time our oppositions defence is allowed to keep shape through this lack of movement. Lukakus movement is dependent on mood. Lukaku 9 times out of 10 is the only target and he also needs to work on movement. The last thing Barkley wants is to pass sideways and backwards but this is his only choice mostly. The oppositions defence needs to be pulled apart with movement so Barkley then has space to pass. I am not saying this is why he is looking average but it doesn't help him. I just think the players we have are not helping bring the best out of him. His work rate off the ball is improving but I suspect it will never be his strong point but he is trying to make it work and needs that little help with intelligent players making space.

Starfish can sniff it the massive forehead biff

This but with more profanities

He's just rubbing salt in the wound, then sticking a spoon in and stirring it, his opinion means not much to me as every time he talks about Everton fans he prob has mental flashbacks thinking of how much stick he and his family used to take. He'll never forget that, and he hates us for it.

I hate to say it but this article is spot on.

Steven Gerrard - Everton fans are ruining Ross Barkley's confidence

He is not remotely spot on.
Barkley has had chance after chance after chance, I personally am sick of him trotting round aimlessly, backing out of tackles. And as for the fans getting on his back, that is laughable; it has been the opposite for years, as soon as he puts in a decent pass that Diamond Barkley song gets going. Let's face it, if he was foreign we would have washed our hands off him ages ago, I am tired of him never turning up for a derby or any other big game, tired of his going missing in games, and sick of his constant need to take an extra touch.

There'll be no tears shed from me when he forges his new career elsewhere as the next Rodwell/Stones.

And I bet you can't wait for this to happen so you can tell everyone you were right.

Personally I'll take the opinion of a few ex pros who have played at the highest level than some angry man who sits in the Lower Gwladys spouting bile.

To an extent I'd agree but it's still possible to have good games and stand out even if your team is struggling those around you are not playing very well , Gana for example... and I'm certainly not going to blame the fans as well as the other players and then the Manager as well as them for his poor form, Ross controls his own destiny mate. Gerrard is sitting there with his Popcorn.

So are you saying he should be exempt from any criticism because he is one of us?

Surround him with better players and more energy, see how he does.

We dont need the money, we would be strengthening a rivals squad and we need to sell the deadwood first. If, after all the deadwood is gone, we think we can replace Ross with better quality then im all for it.

Why sell Ross to replace with (supposed) better quality then still rely on Gibson and Cleverley as backup - we need a strong squad to challenge for anything.

Love how so many of you are proving Gerrards words spot on.

Our fans are a joke, every young blue should leave us asap.
If you think our fans our a joke, you are in a dark place. The fans ARE the club and the club IS the fans. Without the fans it's just a bunch of overpaid young men kicking a bag of air round a field.
Furthermore if you are holding up a snidey RS , who actually hates our fans and our club, can I respectfully suggest Everton might not be the club for you after all.
Or you could just accept that across our mass of Evertonians ,some might just not agree with you ,it's not a crime.
