Let's face it, his confidence is shattered. The small carrot and big stick strategy used on him has not worked. He needs to be given a boost confidence wise. Slaughtering him in public won't do the job.
He's not a youngster anymore. At his age he should have a games where he dominates and winning us some points - where was the last time he did one or another?

He's great athlete but hasn't got a brain to play at the highest level. He'll have a decent career but never make it at the top. You can't learn some things.

How is that done then? Sorry to say it but as much as I love Ross he's a professional footballer, gets paid well for it and need to start turning in performances under his own steam, he's 22-yrs old!
He's not played in his best position and never has been apart from a couple of times under Martinez.

He's the creative half of a CM partnership. The thing is though, most teams go for the belt and braces of two destroyers/ratters in CM. he might have to go to an elite club to get the chance on a regular basis to play that far back.

Still without a shadow of a doubt our best player talent wise.

Does this lack of confidence stop him from putting an actual shift in like?

He's bone idle at times, his half arsed work when we don't have the ball simply isn't good enough.

This lad needs binning off asap before we will get nothing for him. I can't stand watching him. He offers us nothing at all, lazy off the ball and is a complete utter shithouse. He simply isn't good enough.

No one is questioning his talent but what's between the ears mate. Does not seem to be intelligent enough to make thing happen and just not good enough off the ball.

When you reach his age and the improvement stops then you know there is little more to come

I agree talent wise definitely our top player but seriously should be doing much better than he is. I am beginning to think he should move on if not for our sake but for his own. Maybe breaking away from the pressure he feels being at his boyhood club and the expectations he knows are on his shoulders will help him.

Mate, 22 is no age at all. If he was 25 it might be an issue. He's got loads of time for either us or others to turn him into one of the best midfielders in Europe.

Doesn't have the awareness or the engine to play there. I mean ffs he actually stopped to argue with lukaku after playing an awful pass. His first thought should have been to win the ball back

Age is no barrier for determination

Plus the year out of the game its a broken leg...as an example, how was Lallana doing at 22?
