Ross Barkley

He better had. He's one of the best players in the country and leaving him on the bench is not an option.
It is an option,he's a passenger in the team, every time he losses the ball you can see any confidence he had, drain out of him, perhaps he's had to much expectation on his shoulders, perhaps not,he's been around long enough know,if he was going to make it,he already would have, another Rodwell I'm afraid,RK has Sussed him.

When he went into that England team a couple of years back he looked head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch.

When a lad can do that I know he's got what it takes and that the problem is not him but the environment he's in.

Anyone with any football sense can see Barkley as the class player he is. Put him in a City team or Chelsea and he'd prove it time and time again. The truth is that we dont have the canvass for him to paint his pictures on.

Wont get a better canvas then a Moyes team set up to play counter attack at home surely David?

Not at all. Running into traffic. Not his forte. He is not a lock picker.

He's best with a ball at his feet and running from the half way line with plenty of room to move into beyond the first challenge.

How many times did we see that for Everton and England?

Imagine him in the CL for an elite team - he'd be the difference between success and failure.

He could be a Lampard.

He did look quality,he had potential, the potential period is over though,at the moment he's not worth a starting place, only he can change that,I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think he has the mentality to match the undoubted natural ability as a footballer he has

Absolute drivel.

Footie isn't about stats but, if you compare his to Lampard and Gerrard, better.

Short memories here though. His scoring and assists were very good last season:

8 goals and 8 assists last season; better than in his 'breakthrough' season with 6 goals and 5 assists.

I think Neville pointed that out last night in MNF.

It's sheer prejudice against a local lad all this naysaying. You have to laugh when a chicken with no head gets all the plaudits and this lad who is utter class gets it in the neck. Not having that. It's just muddleheaded and embarrassing.

Has nowhere near Lampard's nouse.

Hahahahha David using Phil Neville to back him up.

Almost as bad as Azul using Damo the other day.

Cork time David, you are DONE.
