Ross Barkley

I think he needs a stint on the sidelines. I really do rate him, but I remember when Rom went through a bad patch and RM benched him for a few weeks, he came back with a fresh head and really kicked on. I hope Ross can do the same.
He had an awful game against Sunderland. So bad, in fact, we ended up with both the highest and lowest rated players on the pitch according to goal.com: http://www.goal.com/en-gb/match/sunderland-vs-everton/2241796/ratings

Tbf could have been Rom or Mirallas hooked at half time. All three of those looked poor before the break.

Hopefully he's got it in him to get his head down and make sure Koeman gives him another chance to start.

Barkley was shocking mate... Worst performance on the pitch... He has been sub standard for a while now.

This in spades.

Dropped by England, hooked tonight. He's got inherent problems to his game, that ate going to stop him being a truly great player if they aren't ironed out - passing and lack of awareness being the two worst. He was too indulged by Martinez, which hopefully Koeman can / will knock out of him.

We desperately want Ross to succeed but he just fluffs his lines all the time.

This is his 3rd manager, and he still isn't right - How long must we wait for him to maintain a consistent level of consistency? Don't come back with the 10 he scored or how many he set up last season; he was still going from one extreme to the other in the space of the next match, with as many poor games as good.

That said, the only difference between him & Deulofeu last night was when Deulofeu got the ball his first instinct was to get as far up the pitch as possible and lose the ball as near to their goal as possible. Barkley just lost the ball almost instantly.

Both of them frustrate the life outta me. Both need to improve with their decision making massively. I wouldn't have many qualms about selling either at the moment, if it were possible.

Think we all are just waiting for this lad to kick on and be the world beater we are expecting him to be. Is dropping him for a few weeks the answer? We've got strong competitions for places now so every performance counts.

Going to the ball isn't something that he should need to learn anymore. That's a basic. Too many times he waits for the ball to arrive at his feet, and let's the opposition nip in front of him and pick it off. Invariably meaning that he then has to chase back.

One point last night he gave the ball away 3 times in quick succession, that's nothing to do with talent, it's sloppiness, laziness. He needs to snap out of this lull that he's in and quick.

I personally have thought for years that we should build the team around Ross but he was very poor tonight.

He is the type of player who'll have a quiet game but his half today was awful. Hopefully getting pulled off will motivate him.

Just glad we now have a manager who has the balls to sub a player playing badly whoever they are.

Probably tried too hard last night after being dropped by England and failed miserably.
