Ross Barkley

Mind you, will we need both Gana and Barry at home to Boro?

I could see Barry being held in reserve this Saturday with Ross playing further back and surging forward.

Del in the schemer's position, just behind Rom.

Failing that, Kev's place might be at risk because Bolasie looks better on the left.
I doubt he will drop Barry and Gueye all season except maybe in the cups.

Played miles better when he went off Ross is in serious danger under koeman of being bombed out unless he turns it around .loving koeman no more reputation minutes for underperformed

Kev did everything Koeman asked him to do, play on the left and track back, go in the middle second half then go back on the left. Wouldn't warrant being on the bench on Saturday. Whether Deulofeu did enough to start will be the big question for Saturday but I think Barkley should have a few games on the sidelines, coming on as sub. Mirallas starting in the middle, Bolasie on the left and Deulofeu on the right..

No chance of dropping either player anytime soon, Barry is one of our main players, we have a few first name on the team sheet players at Everton and these two are bang on there.
I've been critical of Barry in the past but with Gueye he looks a new player. McCarthy once he got his injuries wasn't the same player and it exposed Barry. Now Gueye can be more creative in front and Barry can play the sweeper/pivot role perfectly.

Plus the fact he gave Davies a full 15 mins, not just a 5 min cameo, will be deeply concerning for Barkley. There's a glut of good quality midfielders at the club right now and he's under severe threat of being cut adrift. The local lad trump card can only be played so many times.

He has had a couple of poor games. Let's not go overboard. All players need dropped from time to time.

Didn't work for Ross tonight. Sunderland didn't give him a second on the ball and he couldn't cope. Too many times guilty of waiting for the ball rather than going to it. He will learn and come back stronger. To be quite honest if Lukaku didn't come out for the 2nd half I would not have been surprised.
Thought the same but worked out well in the end !

It's a new season. He started well and has looked a bit lost in the last couple. He still has all the technical ability we know he has but he just seems to lack a bit of belief in the business end.

Agree mate would love him turn it around I just don't see the desire or determination to do it though and koeman ain't going to carry passengers sadly got Ross

Perhaps always keeping him in the side over the last few years has hurt him rather than helped him. Taking him out may relieve some of the pressure he clearly feels and he can work on his game and come back in without that weight on his shoulders. Taking him out for a few weeks might do wonders.

Think this is a big wake up call for Ross.
Gone are the days when he could strut aound the pich under Martinez.
Its no coincidnce Koeman wanted Witsel or Sissoko for the same position
If you dont do it for ths manager you will be replaced..as it should always be.
