Ross Barkley

Lets keep in mind this was just ONE game. However, he did look good, and while the goal was impressive, to me the biggest thing I saw was him quickly turning and passing the ball. It seems Koeman has coached the attacking mid to get the ball, and immediately look to play the striker in behind, before going elsewhere. He played a couple of those that were very nice, and its that kind of passing and quickly moving the ball about that can take him from somewhere north of mediocre to great. Hes always had a fantastic shot, but its his passing game and spending too much time on the ball to see moves break down that have been the issue.

My biggest criticism of him is his dilly dallying and holding onto it too much.

Yesterday he looked like eveyrthing he did was done on his instinct without thinking about it or doubting himself, hopefully a sign of the season coming up for him.

I think that's actually a criticism of the other players movement (or lack of).

Ross needs repetative coaching, trapping the ball... lay it off / shoot and Ross will be ace. Just don't make him think or give him any kind of freedom...he needs discipline !! Koeman teaching him the right way over and over to harness his obvious talents is to Everton's massive gain.
