Wilshire and Rashford shouldn't have gone, I'd have taken Townsend and Drinkwater instead. Much more balanced squad then. I'd have taken Baines over Bertrand as well.

He wasn't dreadful though he was ran into the ground by his manager. Only so much a young player like home can do before his body gives up on him.

And considering the lack of fitness coach at the club I'm not sure what else he could have done.

No he was awful in the second half. How on earth was he ran into the ground? Surely you have to actually run to do that?

We really need to stop making excuses for him. He has all the talent in the world. He needs to shot he has the fight in him to use it instead of walking round the pitch looking like he is about to cry.

I'll continue to make excuses until he has a competent manager and a good coaching system which allows him to develop.

I'm sorry but I'm not throwing stick at Ross when the manager had no idea how to set a defence up and therefore ruined the form of the best young centre half in the game .

If he looks crap under Koeman then I'll change my tune mate. But it's double standards to criticise the players yet call for the manager to be sacked at the same time

You cant blame everything on a manager. He put every faith in Barkley. He lacks the mentality to be a truly top player for me. He is still young though so it may come at some point.

I dont think the last bit is double standards at all really. Not everything has to be so black and white.

Possibility he hasn't played because the England fitness team have seen how out of shape he is? Or Hodgson simply doesn't like him?

I'd be truly shocked if he plays mate. Hodgson will class last night's performance as bonus minutes for Wiltshire to get his match fitness up another level.

No chance mate. If Hodgson didn't have the balls to give Barkley any game time in the group stages, he's not going to give him any game time in the knock out stage.

Well hopefully we will find out this coming season then. Personally I think he is far better than what has been shown and I hope for all our benefit he proves that over the coming months.
