what an absolute OTT reaction. i'm sure ferguson didn't start him because he wanted to see how van persie could play in that role in a game he thought was winnable enough to experiment. so stupid, why in the world would they let one of their best players go? if they don't want him, just give him back to us

Reason they didn't play him is because now they have RVP they can drop him when he's on poor form. Before when they had Hernandez and Welbeck he was undroppable as they're not nearly as good enough, although Welbeck can become a great all round striker for a top team. With Kagawa, who has slotted in perfectly and will most likely not be dropped, they use only one striker.
