Messi is rightly lauded as a genius and the best player in the world, but I reckon Ronaldo deserves some plaudits too. Yesterday he became the quickest player to 100 goals in La Liga history, scoring them in just 92 games. If that isn't impressive enough, the previous holder was the great Ferenc Puskas, but he took 13 more games to reach the landmark.

It's a pretty amazing achievement.

Messi is double the player Ronaldo ever will be. Not only does he score just as heavily, he creates lots of chances for his team and works hard to help the team.

The only player really in the modern era that has been that prolific (other than Messi of course) was probably Gerd Muller. I'm no fan of Ronaldo, and really don't like Real, but credit where credits due. Both he and Messi have got roughly double the next highest scorer in La Liga this season.

Ronaldo does tend to inspire people to better themselves, though sadly for him its usually the opposition - whether it be Messi or P-Nev.

I don't think he's double the player at all. He is a better player but not by as much as everybody seems to be making out.

I love Ronaldo when he does his weird shoulder shrug and breathing before he smashes his free kicks, Messi is a far more complete player though.
