Ronaldo and Messi

It's all down to the individual isn't it. Ronaldo scored as many goals here, Aguero looks like he will too, probably more than he scored in Spain, whilst Kanoute and Forlan have become goal machines since leaving a league they didn't go great in

I'd love to see Messi play in our league, he'd score a crazy amount

. This. I've always said that if the pace and physical nature of the English top flight is so hard to come to terms with, How come Brazil, Argentina, Portugal and Holland (and now Spain) usually make us look like nobheads?

I'm probably missing your point, but aren't most of the best players in the English top flight not actually English?

Ronaldo has gone up another level in Spain, largely because one gets the impression his ego cannot accept that there is someone who is better at football than he is. Messi has also improved, though thats more to do with Barcelona getting a decent manager and a number of better players (especially Villa) than as a reaction to that Madeiran ponce.

As for whether he would do it here - probably, though there are a lot more players over here that would probably be "not that type of player" when it came to tackling him. Players like that (as well as people who actually were that type of player) tend not to exist any more in Spain, the only person I can think of who really had a go at him was Ujfaluši last year:
