Ronald Koeman discussion

It'll be unlikely, but even if we lose to Lyon we'll still have 9 points to play for. 10 points typically sees you through a group. So we won't necessarily be out. The League Cup game is away to Chelsea, not saying it's an "expected loss" but a big ask nonetheless. And unlike the Martinez scenario, the season won't be over even if we are out of those two cups. That's the difference, mate.

We are losing every single one of those the way we are playing.

Little bit misleading. Martinez's first 45 games had mostly a decently drilled Moyes defence that progressively got worse. Koeman inherited a shocking Martinez defence that sort of got better.

Martinez Inherited Moyes defence. Koeman Inherited the same defence plus Joel, Mori and Holgate. Currently, there are is 1 Martinez player in the starting 11, Holgate.

Make no Mistake, this is Koeman's team.

All that said, there seems to be little consideration given on here to the fact that any new manager coming in will also have to deal with the shocking lack of pace and strikers at the club too and I've noticed there are absolutely no decent ideas on here between hundreds of posters on how Koeman should deal with that issue. I don't think the whole problem would necessarily take a genius to fix, just a lot of money.

He’s had 3 transfer windows & incl Williams & Bolasie, spent in excess of £180 million!!!!

The problem is BBC is like dave quoting the magical season and turn the blind eye on his last 2 seasons. If they can quote his last 45 games at the club the stats will be more interesting.

So the heck what?

It is of no interest at all.

It is like two bald men arguing over a comb.

Or two gossipy arl tarts debating if rotten apples are worse than rotten pears.

What difference does it make if Koeman’s last 45 matches were better or worse than Bobby’s last 45?

Both figures would be dire.

But Bobby is history now.

This other fellow is bad and getting worse......even the “tough run of league fixtures” excuse has been exposed as bunkum in the last two games

Get him out the door ASAP.

After first 8 games in Martinez last season we were on 13 points having scored 12 conceded 8 and only lost one game despite playing Chelsea, spurs, Liverpool and City. We've conceeded 13 goals to date with only a slightly more difficult set of opponents - surely defending is a valid area to be concerned about?
