but hang on?

Last season

- We improved, going up four places. To say we didn't is denying facts
- He introduced more young players into the side
- We won more home games than in any other season in the PL era, and most in about 38 years or something
- We regularly slotted 3-4 goals in games

So far this season has been poor but of our 10 matches we've lost four. Those four defeats have all been worrying and nobody is saying there shouldn't be any pressure, but I don't get why the attitude has just flipped in the space of literally 3 weeks. It's mental.

It's all opinions. If Martinez had been given a chance, I very much doubt he'd have gone for Williams & Bolasie (neither top 6 quality or worth half of what we paid).

I've seen enough to form an opinion. The dross against Ruzumberok & Split was bad enough. Atalanta was the final nail in the coffin for me. I just want him gone immediately. Why wait until we're mid table & out of Europe?

Martinez was given too long a chance. He got the second due to his good first season but no way should he have been given a third, not all of it anyway when things weren't improving.

We won 13 home games, the same as we won in Martinez's first season.

Bar the last 10mins against utd i saw signs of a much more fluid approach from the team. There is always a 'sticky' patch in most seasons. Confidence breeds confidence, sure the team will get it together overseen by Ronald through these next 4 games. We've got him till at least next summer so i think knuckle down and enjoy the ride is the best approach. Been let down too many times to not give this current set a bit of breathing room. Albiet there has been a distinct lack of fight which is worrying. However that will surely come back.... stay frosty blues!

That's when they don't high press us tbh

Am i missing something here? They say we didn't try to get a striker and Everton demand an apology???
Please tell me this a wind up!!!

I'm just reporting facts, I made no judgement. I suspect it was more than "Everton didn't try" - you know what these shock-jocks are like. They had to apologise or Moshiri would have jilted his Best Friend.

Sadly Mikey he is so one dimensional that he has no idea what to do, lacks any real tactical ability and has terrible man management skills. Add to that he's stubborn and can't accept his way of doing things might be wrong, so instead blames others and trys to shoehorn players into a system he thinks is right rather than an alternative that potentially plays to their strengths.

There's not a single player there that looks motivated and like they believe in what he's asking them to do, I'm not sure how you turn that around when you're as stuck in your ways as Koeman.

It's because they don't know what to do. Similarly to players blindly following orders under Martinez they are doing the same again. Except this affects the final third and if the attacking players do exactly what 8s asked of them they find themselves with no options ahead of them to create for.

How long does a chance mean? How many divisions down before anyone admits he was - over his whole tenure - crap. He had every chance and you can list the bad players he bought and compare them if you wish. Personally I'd prefer to give our new recruits more than 6 weeks in the squad to judge them. Every manager signs duff players, its how many that are duff that determines their success or failure. On nearly every account it is too early to judge the majority of the signings whilst Koeman has been in charge.

But Martinez wasn't 'given a chance' as it had been tosh for two years, not four games!

Bolasie has been missing for nine months but during his time on the pitch was one of our better performers and you can bet we'd have been a much different threat - especially away from home - had he been fit.

Williams likewise was a stop gap and just because he's started this season poorly doesn't mean he wasn't good for large parts of last season. Yes prone to the odd error but overall helped sure our defence up from being one of the worst to I think the fourth best in the league...

The Ruzumberok games were pre-season. If you're seriously judging those performances I despair. We did what we needed to do with players who were still getting fit.

The first leg of Split was fine - and excellent in the first half. The second leg was a much different game at a difficult venue in 27 degrees heat and we came through it.

We looked to be building a bit of momentum with a good performance against City but the Chelsea game and a poor end to the window halted that.

Since then we haven't been able to pick it back up again and had a dreadful week.

You're acting like the season's already over. It's one group game out of six ffs and you're already saying we'll be out of Europe?
