Ronald Koeman discussion

RK and SW are supposed to both sign off on a player. RK is clearly the more forceful personality but it appears SW got his way with Gana and Lookman.
Not certain about the others but I suspect Bolasie was mainly RK's as would be Morgan and Depay. If we spend whatever funds there are on the likes of Depay the cash is going in the drain.
I'd prefer to see SW with the final say so that a currently poorly performing manager can prove his metal by developing more players like Lookman.

I agree. Koeman has to start earning his money. There is more to management than just spending money. He will ALSO have to deal with what he has inherited.

I am also waiting for SW to make his mark. We will know more by the end of the window.

So because he gets payed 6mill he has to be some kind of wizard?? And we werent outplayed by them, we just lost. That can happen if you see our poor squad. 7th is the maximum with these players.
I agree that our squad is poor if you compare it to top 6. But is it poorer than those of Watford, Burnley, Swansea, etc? Look, 6 mils are a lot of money for a season and so far he has not done more than Howe or Diche would have done with the same players. It is not that I don't believe in Koeman, but I have my doubts and so far he has not done anything to prove me wrong.

which only amplifies how poor Martinez was in the market

Tbh, you won't hear any protests from me on that front. I think Lukaku is a waste of space and Deulofeu is the prime example of what you get when you plump for talent over character. I find it strange that the two Martinez players that even his detractors hold on a pedestal are the two players I regard as his biggest mistakes, with the exception of Niasse

Havent seen the game...

Good to see Koeman praise Tom Davies.

Barry starting is waving the white flag.
If you think starting him is waving the white flag what do you think of giving him a contract extension?
I gave out stink when Gibbo got 2 more years and look at him now. Said immediately not waiting until the end of the season to see about Barry was stupid.
He's been a great pro but just doesn't have the legs anymore.

I though you were joking on Lukaku. I entirely agree on Deulofeu.

From top to bottom it smacks of mediocrity.

We have a mediocre owner, mediocre chairman, mediocre manager and mediocre players apart from Lukaku who will be off in the summer if he has any ambition whatsoever.

The club is in a mess and it will cost a fortune to sort it our and even then, this doesn't guarantee success. Man U have spent billions since Ferguson retired and only now do they look the real deal.

Anyone that thinks Koeman will win us major trophies are deluding themselves. He is tier 3 of management, whilst the likes of Ancelotti, Pep and Mourinho are tier 1.

And do you honestly believe RK would be here if he was tier 1 anyway? Would you go to Everton and work with BK and the fake Mosh when you could go to Man U or City where their owners actually put money where their mouth is?

Do one Ev. Another ruined weekend cheers.
