That's a fair point actually. And Stoke as well.

He's not wrong though, we've been saying this for over 18 months.

We have a few. Coleman, Barry, Gueye, McCarthy, Bolasie off the top of my head. Then we have loads of lads who would be capable of physical battles if they put the effort in. Rom, Barkley and our mouse-like centre-halves spring to mind.

The thing is they pursued him so relentlessly and publicly I reckon he could just about have written his own contract.

And I have no doubt it contains no such clause

It would seem utterly reckless, after Martinez, not to include a performance related clause but as you pointed out our aggressive pursuit gave RK all the power in the negotiation so it may well not be there.
We had more choice than I can ever remember. RK, Pelligrini, Rafael, De Boer, Favre + Moyes.
All out of contract and costing nothing in compo except ironically the one the ambitious Mosh wanted.

Honestly lads, I think our team is just tired in the sense that it's all dried up. We need new exciting and maybe even unheard of players, who can provide unknown quantity against teams and make the difference. Basically, what others teams are doing to us. It's a gamble, but it's football, and that's what it's all about surely?

We just got turned over by Watford. Logic suggests they must have better players than us, despite what we may think...

That was my great fear - after seeing them against Westaaaaaam yesterday, I'm not so sure. They have a very soft underbelly that is for sure. Hoping Karius isn't dropped either as he looks out of his depth.

Is this with hindsight though? I'll hold my hands up and say I preferred RK to Pelligrini (won lots but seemed to only be looking for a final paycheck), De Boer (sideways passing teams like Bobby - already been sacked), Moyes (did a great job first time but 11 years was enough).
