Ronald Koeman discussion

Ok, it's in context. But how does it change the view anyone could hold that he wasn't pointing at others and saying he'd replace them?

I don't see it.

It doesn't, but it's not throwing the players under the bus. It's telling the truth. He's said the performances haven't been good enough and that kind of implies that it's an all-round thing, but at the end of the day he's been here 13 games and it's pretty evident that some of these players aren't capable of playing the 'high intensity, aggressive' game that he wants and is demanding - therefore the players are the issue in this instance.

In order to fix the issues at the back its left us with a void that cant be filled.

3 years of terrible squad building has left us with an unbalanced squad lacking in key areas, but ok, Ronny will buy quality players.
No mate. Back four fixed is easy:

Buy a commanding keeper who's a proper first team player and not a has been who can't secure a starting place elsewhere.
Play a back four of Coleman/Holgate---Williams----Mori-----Galloway.
Play Gueye in front of them in a Carsley type role.

That would have been a secure back four even without bringing in a new CB.

Can I have my £6m per season now?

Make me chuckle that now we have the worst squad in Evertons history
This isn't a bad squad, it is a decent squad, it has flaws but let's not go,overboard in blaming everything on the players.

If I have to be blunt the problem is manager and players....but the manager has to carry the can as simply that's how football works..

You want 6m a season for playing 1 DM and Mori in defence?

By the way, you cant use Williams without brining in a new CB.

Come on mate, I appreciate the argument you're making, but this manager has consistently pointed fingers at the first team squad. Now if I was part of it I wouldn't feel too chuffed with someone doing that. He's undermining them and it looks especially poor because the same feller isn't prepared to put his own hand up and say "by the way, we all make mistakes here and I'm no exception".

He's graceless and tactless. Some will like that, most I would suggest, will not.

Dave I think its the 6m salary that is bothering you more than anything!!

It's not the full quote though is it, if you left out the part where he states that maybe the problem is the players we have and were trying to change that?

I'd like to hear him talking about coaching this lot rather than what he's going to get to replace them. He does coach doesn't he?
Last season you were coruscating in your criticism of virtually every member of the squad , this season your the players friend.
What caused this , change of heart or change of manager? :)

We currently have the 6th best defence in the league.

Yes Koeman can do more and we really need to improve as a team. But no matter what salary he gets, it doesn't change the enormity of the job he inherited. It's not a quick fix.

You seem to use his salary as a reason to lose patience with him. I don't remember you doing the same when Martinez wouldn't even bother to drill the team in set pieces while picking up one of the biggest managerial salaries in Europe.

Is he not right though. Last year we had a fantasist this year a realist, I know which camp we should be in.

Have it your way mate. A better GK who commands his area + benching FT Jagielka + playing actual defenders like Holgate and Galloway instead of half arsed wingers in the back four like Baines and Coleman + a screening player like Gueye in front of them would see us much more solid at the back.

Ah right, you wanna play like Pulis with 4 CBs at the back?

Get back in your box David.

I wouldnt pay you 6p a season for your tactical nous.

Not really mate. If he had us playing great football and we weren't in a nose spin then it wouldn't be an issue. It is too much for a manager of his quality though.

Just a question Dave.

Did you say this about Bobby when he blatantly threw Baines under the bus for telling the truth last season?
