rodwell in england squad

I rate Rodwell, being around the squad should be good for him. Hopefully he doesn't pick up an injury though.
 

Says it all about Hodgson this:

"I've left (out) a lot of the players who did extremely well at the Euros - the senior players whose position is in no doubt - to give others a chance."

I think in another team Rodwell would excel, but whilst at Everton we probably won't see the best of him!
 
Thankfully Baines and Jagielka hopefully won't start, and Rodwell will likely be 8th choice in central midfield. Hopefully no injuries. Glad we're playing on the Monday now!

Baines will start and most likely so will jags because they appear to be the most senior defenders in the squad. Stupid idea to play a friendly this close to the start of the season really.
 

all three should start. we should feel proud that they are selected internationals. I can remember long periods when there were no England players from Everton.

I think it's a mixture of pride and fear of them being sold because they can generate a higher fee.

not arsed about that being the case for rodwell and jagielka, if anyone big has to go let it be them
 
I like both of them, I think Rodwell is going to be amazing, given some game time and freedom - he's shown glimpses of his ability, I'd keep him and play him.
I was really unsure of Jags what he first came in, but he's been immense at times, form was hit and miss last season...but I think he'll come good.
 
Hopefully the england thing up can bring him on as a player to , with less pressure on him in that set up .. which is usually the other way around club/country , Moyes is to analytic and tuned in on the young lads looking for things , needs to chill out a bit on em
