Y'know Roberto is pretty bloody good about our history and that?

Dya reckon he stayed up all night the day before his interview revising it, or do you reckon he just knew it all already?

I believe the question set was achievemnt in 'footballing terms'.

The answer is an unqualified yes.

I for one was worried that he'd be pulled down by having to educate a fanbase that had forgotten what good football was all about. Well, if he said that he got his method across to his players in 7 weeks, I'm amazed to say he got it over to our fans in a handful of months.

The majority mate, I still hear screams of "get rid" on occasion.

Oh great, another Bobby thread, move on lads, hes not our Mana, oh, my bad.

Ask me again in 10 years.

Started from the bottom, now we're here

Undoubtedly yes.

Manchester United 0 - 1 Everton is emblematic of the most important thing restored to this great club - hope.

After Fiorentina we were a drifting ship happy to mooch around outside all the competitions with insidious lack of ambition damaging this club.

Some Moyes supporters claim revisionism - you can't revise stuff that was never agreed.

Listening to Roberto's interview 7 weeks it took him to sort things yet year upon year the Moyes crime sheet accumulated with the litany of choking continuing unabashed.

Oh yeh, he's done more than Moyes.

Some people are too quick to dismiss Moyes we had some great runs of results in seasons long extended runs with few defeats amongst them for all our 'pretty football' I doubt our scoring stats are much better than this time last season and there's a cracking little video going round on youtube at the moment of our best 20 goals of 2013 in the creators opinion and all the best team goals came from games Moyes was in charge of, he did great for us and I hate the way he has acted since he left or at least during the summer transfer window, but lets not forget our back 5 which has done so well this season is Moyes' back 5 and without such a good back line we have not scored anywhere near enough to be out gunning teams, so we have that to be thankful for, I saw us under Walker waiting 14 league games for a win, under the dower Walter 'knock it to the left back Unsworth for him to **** it up the pitch' Smith teams, Bottom line Moyes was exactly what we needed and he did a fantastic job. Lets see where we are 2 years before saying Martinez' 23 game tenure is already than the 10 years of great service Moyes gave us.

Just because Martinez says the right things a lot like fish face across the road did last season and still does this season every time they have a bad result. History, Integrity, Honour, Passion, Fan base, Incredible support. There all sound bites for the fans to lap up in the good and bad times.

Maybe, but he stayed about five years too long and began to stink the place out with his attitude to the club and his negative football.

Martinez has opened a massive window on the club and let his staleness out.

Moyes is old school with no real part to play in top flight football.

I can start a Moyes thread for your satisfaction if you want.

Seriously, I don't think we can compare. Moyes was the right man at the right time. Roberto is the man to come along and build on that stabilisation and take us to the very top. Moyes has left a sour taste with his actions since leaving, and I couldn't be happier with our new boss. If Moyes had simply kept his gob shut I'm sure a lot more people would be more sympathetic towards his term here.

In essence, he stopped us being relegated, took away that annual worry and took us to a cup final, giving us back European football along the way.

Bottom line - we should thank Moyes for what he did, but I'm much happier with Roberto.

Hes only done more WHEN he does more.

If he WINS that Cup Final
If he gets through that CL qualifier

And it will be mostly done on the solid base of outstanding players Moyes left behind.

Thats not to take anything away from Martinez, if he does these things, it will be down to him, getting out of the players what Moyes couldnt, we currently have 5 more points than at the same point as last Season, we got knocked out of the League Cup at the same point as last Season, yes we can all see the progress made, the style of play, the ruthlessness in the way we destroy teams, the win at OT, the performance at Arsenal, the emergence of Ross Barkley, Seamus Coleman, the potential of John Stones, the transfer nous Martinez displayed in the Summer was almost flawless, theres a greyish mark next to 1 of his signings for me, but time will tell on that 1.

I personally dont think we should look back, we look to the future and the future looks bright, very bright indeed, but at the same time, when I looked behind Moyes, all I saw was darkness, Moyes made me personally believe, clearly he or we always failed at that last hurdle, Martinez strikes me as a man that doesnt see hurdles, he only sees glory.
