i was watching it about 12pm today and it was kicking off, they was showing it live on Euronews.

3 protesters where killed and found in a public library and 1000's just turned up starting attacking the police.

The Ukrainian government have passed legislation that basically gives them absolute power, this can't be legally challenged so people are rightfully kicking off about it and demonstrating against the legislation. These protests weren't taken too kindly so the Ukrainian government sent everyone who was protesting a text saying they will be put in prison once everything dies down which makes protesters guaranteed to protest since they go to prison if they don't. Things are getting so bad that there's even rumours of the Ukrainian government being about to send tanks in to disperse the crowds.

It's not even just the usual protest for protest's sake crowd protesting either, you've got people of all walks of life kicking off. Even Vitali Klitschko has spoke out against the government demanding they remove this legislation

It's about the West using Ukrainians to try and pull their country away from the influence of Russia and toward the EU. Many in the opposition parties opposing the current Yanukovych regime (he's in favour of forging closer links with Russia) are themselves mired in corruption from when they were in power, and they're using protestors (who include a lot of neo-nazis in their ranks) to try and take power by force.

It's basically an attempt at regime change.

I think you'll find the average member of the population is wanting EU membership

Thats what this is all about

Since that guarentees their civil rights
