we paid £40m, tops

It's also a £40m profit on his 'book price' which is what matters for FFP.

He scored 10 goals last season and we're knackered financially because of dreadful mismanagement. This is what you get.

Still have to be getting a good £68-70 millions for his services mate.

Kenwrights rolled over for Levy by the sounds of it.

Literally nothing to say that. There's two articles out from the Times and The Athletic this eve that say we're not budging on our valuation (believed to be £60m minimum)

The Mirror report from Maddock is designed to do one thing only: make £60M seem a great deal. That's the objective. He's been asked by Everton to put that out there.

I think everyone who keeps saying we should walk away and not sell needs to explain how that's going to work out in light of these types of reports

In fairness, it's a 1st offence.

There have been other offences of such rules, which involved a slap on the wrist/small fine.

That would be the precedent. A points deduction, especially in light of what the scab 6 got for greater offences, would wholly disproportionate, and perhaps unconstitutional. We should contest in courts and probably win.

That being said, if 60m is on the table for Richarlison it makes sense to sell. Not because of what compliant media people egg on, but because it's the right play for the football club.
