Richarlison is boss. Yes he has his off games and his petulance can be frustrating but he is of genuine high quality.

I remember Evertonians slagging off our best striker in 30 years because he didn’t “run enough” and was “lazy”.

Enjoy Richarlison whilst he’s here and let’s hope he helps us win a trophy!

He’s still young and will only get better and better. So influential for us.
As for our best striker in 30 years, he was great. He will demonstrate his true skills with Juve this year.

Richarlison still has potential to improve but any champions league class side will be very worried about the spells he has when he has almost nil impact on games,

We paid 45mill I would say he is probably worth a bit more now and maybe worth a champions league class fee (60+) if he shows consistency this year.

Its similar to Lukaka. His stats looked great but we all knew he probably couldnt cut it at top champions league level and we got lucky to get over the odds for him.

I still agree with this. Though he has looked better in recent weeks and had a great spell last season and the season before, there are still lots of questions about his overall contribution. From the end of Jan last season until the middle of May he got 3 goals and no assists and that was it, the rest of his contribution consisted of dives and poor passes, just not good enough all round returns for a player of the calibre we are talking about. If he can actually have an effect in more games then I think he will reach that level. His energy and tracking back seem to be back to his best last season too which is refreshing.

The pattern on here seems to be when he has a good game or scores, people come on here and talk about him being amazing then for the rest of the time no one says anything on here, conveniently forgetting to discuss his poor performances.

Weirdly, he seems to be more consistent for Brazil.

Brazil as a team are also much more consistent as an attacking force. If Iwobi can be more useful in the final third than Bernard was, Kean a better goal scorer than DCL and Gylfi more often the guy from Wolves than the one from Watford I reckon Richarlison will be more up than down as well.

That's nonsense.

He played a part in big wins over the top six sides at home and our good run in general.

He was part of a functioning unit that worked well. Look at Bernard's stats in that same time. Doesn't mean they played badly.

He's 22 and has plenty of time to improve on the things he needs to work on - which is a fair bit, but that's to be expected.

He's probably more consistent for Brazil because he has better players playing with him. His ability - and it's one that makes him such a useful player - isn't whipping crosses in or threading inch-perfect passes - it's getting into dangerous areas and scoring or making something happen. He does that really well. But he can't do it alone. And because he's (just) 22 of course there'll be inconsistencies. Just look how much Sterling has come on in two years.

You're absolutely right to say he has faults, pretty much every player does. But he is part of an attacking unit that when it clicks is excellent, and he's probably the most dangerous player of those four-six players too.

People were laying into him after two poor performances this season so I don't know what you're getting at there, either.

I genuinely don't recall him offering much in that period. Anyway,I do agree with you that, with our new attack of Iwobi, Kean and Richie with Delph and Gbamin playing actual forward passes I am excited for what they can produce. I still by my statement that he really needs to learn how to pass though

But he was part of the attack - an attack which comfortably won seven of our last 10 games?

He offered exactly what the team needed. And played well.

Yep, his passing can improve. But at the end of the day we want him getting on the end of passes and crosses, in the main.

Hr was also the reason Coleman started playing better. Combined much better than he did with Walcott.

He has a duty to protect his players - Mina playing one game then being on the bench another is exactly the right call by Columbia - Brazil took the mick and Silva should have made it clear the lad hasnt had a proper pre season rest and shouldnt be played in 2 consecutive international games with the quality they have in the squad.

I think hes embracing the fact our star player is becoming a star player for his national team thus giving exposure and great publicity for him, and in turn, us.

So if he is off the pace sunday and we lose to a team with quite a few more pacey players rested like Wilson, Fraser, King etc you still think we were right to say nothing? The lad is going to have to be pressing / tracking back all game and if he's even just 90% you'll notice a dip in energy levels and thus his performance.

The lads only 22 he isnt 28 in his prime with a pre season rest behind him he had the Copa America all summer and prior to Wolves he looked knackered in games.

Poor form from the manager / club imo
