Guess that explains why Barkley although consistently providing more contribution to his team every year since a teenager than almost any other English player kept getting overlooked for England... noted .. contribution and end product out... umm potential, nationality and previous relationships in.

Hey if Mbappe can be sold for 180m based purely on potential this could be a bargain! That looks to have worked out!

Mbappe ripped it up for Monaco in all competitions the season before he went to PSG though.
He showed a lot more than just potential

The side lacks size, strength and pace all over the park, this lad and mina help to rectify that hugely.

Glad the manager and dof seem to realise that and are targeting that profile of player.

Personally think Vlasic is a longer term better bet than Lookman as well due to having the above qualities already.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you are trying to say.

Malcom? Lozano? Perisic? All under 50m and I don’t watch much football apart from Everton
two won't come and not s
Royal blue Mersey have cousins or familly in Holland do they? Remeber saying we want 50m for Rooney? 30m euros or pounds is a massive fee for any Dutch club. Even paying 35 for him is less risk than Richarlison at 50
do you have cousins ir (???) family in Holland? We paid about 30m for klaassen lol. Lozano isn't going to go for less than 40m euros. Less risk? Anyone coming from that league has enormous risk. What are you talking about?

If the add ons are ever reached, you would assume he’d be a fully fledged Brazil international smashing it on the big stage.
Depends how they're structured, obviously, but if all £15m was paid, it'd be a pretty safe bet that we'd have CL football and a trophy to show for it.

Anyone here who wouldn't be ok with the club spending £50m (or £15m, depending on how you look at it) to make that happen?

The market has gone crazy, but even despite that we seem to be agreeing the most inflated deals relative to other clubs time after time.

£35m -- which is not the way deals with add-ons are reported, but just for argument's sake -- is still high for someone with one average season in the PL.

The positives as other people have highlighted are a) that it seems to be part of a sound strategy this time, and b) the players are young and will have a resale value.
