Don’t disagree with any of that, but my point was we may have been lucky to get shot when we did, regardless of the why.
If he had been here this season but injured almost as much as D..C..L.. has been, I suspect he’d have been getting slaughtered on here (prioritising Brazil etc) and the board blamed for not selling him when the opportunity arose.
One of my favourite players in quite some time but he’s barely played this season.

You're very possibly right. Every summer break he's seemingly involved with Copa Americas, Olympics and the last WC. Even if he's not got a major injury there's gonna be a lot of niggles from no prolonged rest.
