Absolutely loved Goughie....was a rock in that defence at a time when we were really poor.

I always recall a ding-dong he had with Don Hutchison at a night game at Goodison but can't remember the opponents. We'd defended a corner badly, and Goughie gave Hutchison a verbal bollocking for losing his man. Next corner came in and went out for a goal kick I think. As the players cleared the area and moved up pitch Hutchison clouted Goughie from behind on the sly. Goughie just stood unmoved and gave him a proper evil stare. Always wanted to know what it was all about, and what, if anything, occurred in the changing rooms after the match.

If you could ask him that, and get an answer, I'd love to read it.

Went on one of them club dinners once and he was an absolute gentleman with Kevin Campbell and surprisingly Mark Pembridge. The so-called icons at the time....Duncan and Gazza were a miserable, ignorant pair of sods.

Enjoy the meeting mate.

Think it was v Coventry mate,I never really took to Hutchison, good player and all that but always looked still like a RS in a blue shirt to me,real cowards trick that day,the story went at the time that Goughie didn't want to do anything extreme in front of 40000 fans and waited til he got in the dressing room and sorted him out,be interesting if Bally finds out what actually went on that day.

Has to be your most obvious wind up, no one who has watched any football can seriously hold this opinion
Most self important player ever seen at Goodison. Dunne did the running, he did the pointing.

I remember him mostly for giving interviews where he'd talk about himself in the third person. A very odd character.

I hate even having to think of that period. Smith and Knox and his arl arse cronies coining it in at Everton's expense and handing back dross in return. The grimmest days ever seen at the club, imo.
