terrible news today when i logged onto the BBC website. a little man, 11 year old Rhys was shot in the neck and died in a pub car park. he was on his way home from football practice, still in his football kit. he was an evertonian, but that really matters not. i feel sick after reading that story.

words really can't express sympathy for his poor family. we all remember footy practice when we were 11. how can you associate that innocent memory with what happened yesterday?

RIP Rhys.

Shocking, RIP lad and my heart goes out to his family and friends

24 hours on, its a worrying story so far.

i have to know, what his older brother is 'in too', what his father is 'in too', what uncles and cousins are 'in too' because an eleven year old isnt executed on the street for no reason.

this story could possibly have some nasty turns to come, where has the gun come from? and why at this moment does no one know anything?

Guns have no place in society and this just reaffirms that for me, a sad and tragic loss of life.

RIP mate, tell god to give us a 6-0 thrashing of rovers and the league title while you there :)

rob bit low to be bringing luck in football into the same thread as a tragic loss...

not having a go... just think you should have thought a bit more before you said that !!

RIP... and i hope whatever happened is exposed

sorry you feel that way, but its how I deal with these kinds of things.

You have a few choices in life, to cry or to smile, no matter how you feel on the inside you can do one of these things.

thats fair play rob, as i said wasnt having a go !! just didnt c it from that perspective to be honest !! but all well and good !!!

still a sick crime, even if the family is involved in [Poor language removed] !!! (which we dont even know yet)

As monty python said "Always look on the bright side of life" sometimes hard to do, but its something to try to do.

A very sad loss for everyone in concerned and he was an Evertonian too, which makes it mean more to us, he was one of us.
This is where I would normally make a remark about nutmegging Jesus but I won't :D

I have to say that I am very disappointed by the lack of reaction or sympathy shown towards this lad and his family by this forum. The club will tomorrow, quite rightly, hold a minutes silence for the lad, a little boy who like so many love the blues and held hopes of someday donning the strip. He had been out playing football in a pub carpark, a kick around with the lads when some heinous prick shot him dead in broad daylight. Much to the shame of this forum more post have been made in so many other threads about trivial matters than this that I can only conclude that some of you don't care, just don't give a damn. I see one post on this thread advises people to always look on the bright side of life, try telling that to the family......................

Jesus Christ Monty, how the hell can you say such a thing, of course we all care and feel for his family, this was as shocking as anything i've heard or seen on the news for many a year.

I started this thread: http://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2288

Im devastated, it really affected me when I saw his Dad explaing how he was to start 'big school' and how excited he was, and the small things like his unopened calculator and little school uniform were still hung up. [Poor language removed] sad :(
