- Win will take the Rezzies back to the top of the leauge!

- No Andy Shandy!

- Castillo Starts!

- Intresting Line Up with Three Strikers Satarting whol play on the wing?

- Wheres Baxter and Akpan?

If you brought in Van Der Meyde for McCarten and drop Rodwell in the defence- and Played Baxter for Jutckiewitz - The reserve team would be extremely strong.

I don't think any of us have seen enough to judge him to be honest. He's only played four games and he came into a very weak side lacking confidence and balance.

I saw some good things and some bad things personally, he's not as bad as people make out.

Everton lead by the single goal at half-time against Newcastle.
The opening exchanges at the Stobart Stadium brought very much of nothing, with both sides working hard to close the opposing team down.

Indeed it wasn’t until the 10 minute mark that the Blues had their first opportunity on goal courtesy of a 20 yard striker from Anichebe.

Newcastle looked very dangerous on the break though and showed signs that they could punish Holden’s side on the counter attack.

On 12 minutes, following on from an Everton attack, the Magpies hit with pace and Andrew Carroll should have scored when he was found unmarked in the six-yard box.

Fortunately, the striker completely missed his kick – swiping at fresh air.

That chance sparked Everton into life and we could have been two up by the time the game had reached the twenty minute mark – but had two goals disallowed.

The first came when Anichebe used his strength to turn Mark
Donninger, creating space just six yards out – but when his shot crossed the line, the referee blew his whistle, ruling that Anichebe had fouled the defender.

The second was courtesy of Lukas Jutkiewicz. Leighton Baines whipped in a cross from the left and Lukas connected in the box.

But he was adjudged to have used his hands to guide the ball over the line.

After a frantic 10 minutes of Blues onslaught – Holden’s side got what they deserved on 24 minutes when Jutkiewicz connected with a Tony Hibbert cross. His powerful header into the bottom right hand corner of the goal gave the Newcastle keeper no chance.

There were chances for both sides in the remainder of the half, but the teams went in at the break with Everton winning 1-0.

Everton are back to winning ways after defeating Newcastle reserves 1-0 at the Stobart Stadium.

The goal came courtesy of Lukas Jutkiewicz – but the score-line could have been higher with the Blues having two goals disallowed in the first half.

Andy Holden named a strong side to take on the Magpies, with the likes of Leighton Baines, Tony Hibbert and Victor Anichebe all being named in the starting line-up.

In the second half, Anichebe almost doubled Everton’s lead very early on when he broke past the last defender, but his well struck shot forced a good save from Fraser Forster, in goal for Newcastle.

The remainder of the half had very little in terms of chances, but on 67 minutes, when James Wallace won the ball with a strong challenge just outside the Magpies' penalty box, he played in Gosling. He struck – and just as his shot looked destined for goal, the ball ricocheted off the crossbar.
