I really struggled to think of 5 publicly known people I respect. Fawning over celebrities I know little about isn't something I find rational. In no particular order I came up with:

1. Patrick Stewart
2. Kenneth Brannagh
3. David Attenborough
4. Stephen Hawking

Honestly cant think of another.

Equally i can't narrow down my contemptuous dislike of public figures to just one individual. If pushed I'll just stick with Maggie Thatcher.

Respect - Tom Hanks, Tony Benn, Joe Royle, Marion Cotillard and John Steinbeck.

Disrespect - any working class person that voted for Brexit or the Tories. Although technically that's two. But they'd overlap massively.
