Everton went 1-0 up at the break with a goal from Connor McAleney assisted by Adam Thomas. John Lundstram put the home side ahead only for Tyias Browning to bring down Harry Clayton in the box and Joe Guest putting his effort away

Very young side that, apart from Hahnemann, have Nsiala and Dier climbed above Mustafi in the pecking order or was it just to have a look at them?

Mustafi has just returned from international duty with Germany U20s so perhaps that was why he didn't play.

Any idea why this game happened?
Was it just a warm up for the reserves upcoming matches or do Crewe fancy a couple of our young lads on loan and took a look?

I would think it was a warm up for the upcoming matches although Crewe had trialists also
