It seems that people who post a lot and generally and genuinely get on with each other are put under this title. I just don't get it.

The word clique just means "persons who interact with each other more regularly and intensely than others in the same setting".

There are cliques on here, of course. It's natural that if I respect someone and like their opinion I'm more eager to talk to them then someone else who I don't enjoy talking to. But I don't think there's anything wrong with it or it should be avoided.

It ain't the getting on with people that's at issue, quite obviously it's the reverse.

Look I can see this is going nowhere, the clique thing is neither here nor there, but I hold that neg repping is open to abuse and having such a vehicle against fellow evertonians seems ludicrous.

I imagine when first created the idea of a gentle piss take and good humoured banter was the point and maybe that remains between (how can I put this?) "certain members" but I can tell you thats not my experience and I know I'm not alone.

There's no "clique" at all. There's just a certain number of posters (say 40 or so) who post more than anyone else. You get to know these people because they interact more, reveal more about themselves, etc... How can you get to know other people who consider themselves outside of "the clique" when you don't post?

The best thing about neg reps is when people get all upset over them.

I think pretty much most negs i've given i've either had one back with some arsey comment or an actually pm/profile message/post in a thread somewhere moaning about.
