Reputation System - Disabled

Hi All,

With regret, I've disabled the reputation system.

Unfortunately, despite best efforts to minimise potential abuse (Negative Rep prompting a moderator alert) - we have had a handful of absolute idiots abusing the system. Those idiots will shortly find themselves permanently banned for being malicious, misrepresenting our community and wasting our time.

The reputation system will be revamped and back shortly.

I think some people get far too touchy about the whole neg rep thing. At the end of the day, it's some red dots on a screen.

I'm as guilty as anyone for "popcorning" but I've never got upset when someone has deigned to neg me over a post I've made, deserved or not.

Be interesting to see what the rep revamp involves. (provided I'm not permanently banned that is)

Depends what it contains. If it's abuse which is left anonymously (which it is more often than not ) people are bound to get rankled.

I'd would love to know who was doing it to me. I was on -16000 today. Everytime people would put me back in green I'd get neg repped 5000 points. The worst thing is before the rep system changed I was on -12000 I got a clean slate. So in truth I'd be on -28000 points since I joined 3 months ago.
