The more rep you get, the more you can give.

So someone to be pos repped once can only give out 5 or 10, someone with six years of pos rep can give out 6000.

So not all pos and negs are equal.

You're negative despite getting only 6 neg reps more positive because you're liked by newcomers and disliked by oldies, I would say.

This is why it got took away in the first place isn't it? now we only just got it back and people are abusing it already.

It was took away because people were using it to send abusive comments to other people in a non moderated space. By pos repping a post and writing 'you're a dick' in the comments, for example.

Giving people pos and neg rep because you agree or disagree with their posts isn't abusing the system, it's what the system is for.
