If someone told me in 1985 that in 20 years Everton fans expectations would be limited to trying to finish above Liverpool or get to a final I would have probably become an avid stamp collector instead of a football fan.

Yes, many of his transfers were very good, but lets be honest Everton don't pay low wages - we can attract international quality players.
