Relegation?

We're 8 points above Blackburn. 8 points more in the other direction and we'd be right on the heels of the RS. The troubling thing is that we seem to be playing for draws at the moment. The teams below us will soon be able to eat up the ground if they get a couple of wins. Blackburn, Wolves and Wigan are all capable of doing that.

The first good thing ive ever read of football-rumours.co.uk...

If kenwright cannot get the price he wants for the club now, i hope he understands how little he would get for us as a championship club. Please go now, get out while you can, and let a new owner try to save this GREAT club, from the depths you have draged us too.

And it's not even a rumour. Does he realise he'd get less for us if we went down?! He's not exactly trying to keep us up is he?!

He can't keep us up, and he can't lead us down...Kenwright is helpless, it's completely out of his hands.

I don't see relegation this season, they will win a few more matches. It will happen eventually if this ship isn't righted financially.

He seems to be looking at over & above top dollar whilst we're up in the PL. I think that if we fell down to the Championship, he'd then ask for an amount closer to what we're worth & he'd still be ahead. Win/win for him.

We need to stop being preoccupied with Kenwright and takeover fantasies, its time for Moyes to sort the team out.

The players are sleep-walking into relegation this season. Bolton and Blackburn are on the rise and QPR will soon outstrip us. We are already in the mire.

I can't see Wigan or Wolves getting out of it, but they are the only teams getting worse results than us and February promises to be a repeat of October, only now we are playing with less confidence.

I sincerely hope I am wrong, but I have been watching the Blues since the 1960s and I feel totally deflated.

Yeah agree with you. I can't help feeling that if we just got 1 player who would spark everybody into life it would make a huge difference. There seems to be a collective somnambulism about the place. Everyone needs a lift.

I bet people were thinking Donovan was the one we were looking for...

And he has given this team a lift.

Imagine what our team would have been like WITHOUT him for the last 5 games:
--No Heitinga goal in FA Cup.
--No Anichebe goal against Villa.
--No cross into Fellaini today.
--No decent corners (beyond Baines).
--No crosses that Saha/Vic miss.
--0 counterattacks
--No hitting the bar in his first game.
--No helping out Neville at RB.
--No pace since the only other guy with some can't get more than 20 minutes.

That depressed me just writing it. He had a crappy game today, but he and Baines have been our entire offense since January.

Unless Coleman comes back to his prior form after weeks gone, or Rodwell has a stormer, or Barkley gets playing time, I fear for us in March - May let alone if we get past the FA Cup round this week. Still don't think we'll be relegated, but it will be dire footy.

I sometimes feel we should of taken a relegation hit in the 90's when we nearly went down, who knows things may well be different now, if we go down now we may not be able to recover for a good few seasons it could kill us off.

Nah coz we turned it around in the mid to late 00's. Don't think today has got much to do with us being gash in the 90's. Things are just getting stale. We've replaced Arteta with Gibson. About sums it up.
