By the same token, Brighton going to Leeds and blowing up would vindicate some of the suspicions many had about Potter back then. Unquestionably he's done a really fine job there - but Everton is a different kettle of fish. I hope he proves himself less flaky than some of us suspect he is by winning on Sunday.
Wouldnt prove anything about him or vindicate anyone if they lost. Going away to a team under the kosh thats fighting relegation isnt easy (eg chelsea and their top manager tuchel vs us - doesnt mean he is crap as they lost). He is a decent manager, but there is no expectation on him to win every game. Especially with the squad Brighton have. He certainly has them overachieving though.

I don’t care if we win the next 3 games 5 nil and play like the 1970 Brazil team.

I will not let these players hoodwink me and have me believing they are suddenly good enough.

Bar Gordon, Pickford , milyenko, Allan, Richy and Coleman the effort levels have not been there consistently enough and that is unforgivable.

From that list of players that do put in the required effort consistently, two are to old or too slow and need replacing and Richy is not good enough technically .

The rest need to be released or sold depending on their contract situation.
Absolutely this - get over the line then launch most of them into the sun.

Delphs had a couple of decent games, let’s throw a new contract at him shall we? Nah, don’t think so, and he’s feckin injured again!

Holgate and Keane have been part of probably the worst Everton defence I have ever watched - get them gone, along with JJK who’s been at the club about 10 years too long.

If DCLs heads been turned, cash in and move on.

If any decent offers come in for Mina, take it and move on (as much as I’d be gutted) - he’s just not available enough for us.

Once and if we get safe, as well as gutting the squad, the focus should also go back on the board and the absolute shambles that has taken place with those charlatans - we cannot forget what has gone on, and the fans need to go after them again so real change happens, so we do as much as we can to never find ourselves in this situation again.

I agree, of course. But it's fantastic grist to the trolling mill around here.

If Potter wins Sunday, we should have appointed him (against his will) last summer.

If he loses Sunday, we made the right decision (being rejected by him). lol

On Sunday, Potter is effectively "our" manager. I hope he aces the audition. Otherwise, he will condemned to Hades as a hipster flash-in-the-pan. Proper order, too.

One thing that this relegation scrap has brought into sharp focus for me is how the hell did Leicester City find themselves in the same situation as us a few seasons back, only to follow it up with a PL title win the following season.

I cannot fathom how they achieved that. It blows my mind every time I think about it.

All this Aguero stuff today pales into insignificant nonsense compared to Leicester. Truly phenomenal, no question. Like a kid on FM or FIFA !

You'll see how next season mate. Rondon is going to be the leagues top scorer and lifting the trophy. How you ask? The return of a certain Icelandic midfield maestro!

EVERTON'S GONNA WIN THE CUP....RONDON'S GONNA LIFT IT UP. LET'S GO! LET'S GO! LET'S GO!

I know what you mean. But technically I'd say Mina, Delph, Pickford, Richarlison, Doucoure, Allan are the only ones good enough for me. You'd have to sell 15 and bring in 15 and its not happening.

It's more likely we'll bring in 4 or 5 every window, and it'll take a couple of years to reboot the squad.

It’s just crazy. They had Wes morgan at centre back and Danny Simpson at right back…

Because Nigel Pearson was a bum and played Vardy on the right wing all season.

If Rondon is the league's top scorer next season I will eat my hat. You can hold me to it.
