I've had a bet on Burnley and the draw tonight. Hopefully I'll lose both bets.

I’ve been putting and will continue to put £20 on a Burnley win every game between now and the end of the season (or ideally until we’re safe), I want to lose every penny.

Easy to say about hypotheticals but would anyone have put it beyond us to beat Burnley and then get battered by United? What if Cornet had scored that open goal against Norwich and pen v West Ham in the intervening period? We’d be in a pretty similar situation.

It would have been nice to put them away but we still have survival in our hands, there’s no make or break games, it’s purely points accumulation over the next 7 games. We could beat Liverpool away, lose the next 6 and go down. We could get beaten 10-0 at the weekend, then beat Palace and Brentford and stay up.

I’m not bothered about them, But what a boost it would be to hamper there title challenge with stopping them getting points. I can’t see it happening though.

Even given how rubbish we are, I refuse to believe we can’t go there and get a draw. I’d like to think that if we have our best dogged performance we could stop any side in the league from scoring.

That’s why it hacks me off so much when we give them set piece goals or pass back goals. They don’t even need to cut through us most of the time, we just give them gifts. Let’s make them work for it and see how good they really are.
