I'm done saying how "morale boosting" a single result is because it seems to just go by the wayside next match. That team is championship standard, and mid-table championship standard at that. Absolutely woeful all over the gaf with one one or two exceptions. It'll be up with the biggest achievements of Lampard's whole career if we manage to stay up with the donkeys we have for a team.

People can hope for the miracle by all means.

But I think its delusional to be expecting a result.

For us to be level on points with Burnley they would need to take 4 points from Wolves and Saints and us to lose to the RS.

Whilst thats a possibility Burnley only took 1 point from a hapless Norwich and a knackered WHU who had just flown back from France.

We still have winnable games in Brentford, Palace, Watford and Chelsea (who we drew away from home with half a team oot). If Arsenal have CL secured by the last day they could be on the beach with their flip flops on as well.

Just dont get the bed wetting at this stage - after the Burnley defeat if you would have been offered a 4 point swing after playing Man Utd & Leicester you would have grabbed it with both hands !

Burnley have won 4 games out of 31, logic says they wont win 4 of the next 7. I think they will win 2 and draw 1 or 2 which gives them 32/33 points.

We are already on 29 so 1 more win and a draw or two should do it realistically.

Problem comes towards the end of the season when teams have nothing to play for. Burnley have Wolves, Watford (mathematically) and possible Spurs with something to play for.

We have RS, Chelsea and Arsenal (possibly Leicester) with something to play for.

We play Leicester Away 3 days after their 2nd leg v Roma Away. Hopefully they win that and prioritise the competition, resting players v us.

None of us know how they will do. But a win tonight made things much harder for them and put things more under our own control. We are now relying on others and I dont like it. We should have won tonight

so if burnley get 4 from they’re nxt two games

we’re in the bottom 3?

then we have chelsea but hey it will be ok tho lads

Yes. Burnley could easily scramble a 1-0 v Saints tomorrow and then grind out the most boring 0-0 in history v Wolves and that would be enough to get them to 17th.

Worry with the weekend is the GD will take a hammering and that won't be recoverable for the run in so that would effectively be another points sacrificed.

We'll see what happens with all the games played though.
