Is it correct Watford have lost their last 9 at home ? If so that's one we need to pick up something.
Not sure mate but if we are to win away at all then surely it's that one, and they may be further adrift by the time it comes around.

I'm discounting getting anything in the derby or final day vs. Arsenal. Which leaves only Watford and Leicester to get away points.

Watford I think we have to get three points even if we might not need them by as badly by then.

Playing Leicester twice is a complication. I'd settle for a home win against them but if we could take a point at their place it would be a great return.

Wasn’t as good a Liverpool team

Not sure about that. Think it was far more offensive, the front three were all in their prime then and they had Coutinho behind them.

I don’t see the same threat now. They’ll just try to do us with a set piece, penalty, or moment of brilliance from one of the forwards. Their attacking play in 17/18 was ridiculous.

Well, this is the side that won at Anfield in February 2021:

Pickford
Coleman Holgate Keane Godfrey Digne
Doucoure Davies Gomes
Rodriguez Richarlison

DCL, Iwobi and Sigurdsson came on as subs.

Doesn't look a lot stronger. Yes, we had Digne and James. But Allan was an unused sub, and we didn't have VDB, Gordon, Gray or Mykolenko.

Obviously we still have a bunch of problems that need to be fixed. Worst side in 70 years though ? I can't accept that, I believe that we're capable of better things.

No crowd was a different thing altogether

When they finished 4th? They will comfortably score more this season than they did then. Have you watched them? They are clearly one of the top 3 sides in Europe, if not the best.

You don’t think this current team that’s on for a quadruple is as good as their team that finished about 4th?

The only confidence / hope I have going into the Liverpool game is that they cant drop points in the Title Race! I'm hoping this makes them slightly nervous. I'm not sure they will be up for a physical battle either as they wont want any injuries.

Maybe just wishful thinking.

A point would be ideal.

Ideally we could do with another team getting dragged right into it. We’re currently slight favourites to stay up, but it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that one or both of Watford and Burnley string a couple of wins together and leapfrog us.

Unlikely given their form up to this point in the season, but we’ve seen teams go on mad runs towards the end of the season to get themselves out of trouble before.

Think Wigan did it a few years on the run under Martinez when they were all but dead and buried.

Would ideally like us to just win enough games that we don’t have to worry about other teams, but, Everton aren’t we.
Yes and im hoping this is us!

A miracle tbh. Different beating a poor man utd side to getting a result at the RS. Shipping 3 at Burnley still scares the hell out of me considering how they havent hit the net at all in about the last 6 weeks.
Be nice mind if it did happen.

We do usually up our game against the bigger teams though. Which always baffles me to why we drop our work rate against the lower teams.

I watched the City v Liverpool game yesterday after the Norwich Burnley game. What struck me is that although City and Liverpool were playing the same game as the rest of us do, they do it on a much different level. They are so far ahead of the other teams in the league that we are in danger of becoming like Scotland was for many years, when there were only 2 teams capable of inning the league.

That said, we were very unlucky not to have got something against City at Goodison, even though their players were obviously so much better than ours, so, who knows? Anything can happen on the day, especially in a derby game.

Leeds aren't out of the woods yet you know. Yes they're five points clear of us but they've also played two games more then us and Burnley. Their next four games are Crystal Palace away, Man City at home, Arsenal away and Chelsea at home. Sure their last home game against Brighton is very winnable but they then have Brentford away on the last day who would love to celebrate staying up themselves while sending some else down! They also have an utter atrocious goal difference. I'm not saying that they will end up going down but I am saying that if people can just dismiss our four point lead on Burnley then we can do the same about Leeds. This is far from over.
