After that Norwich result I can't see Burnley getting more than 7 or 8 points
That'll be a punch to the gut for them much like it was for us when we lost to them but we went on to get a result no one expected after. We can't write them off as Burnley realistically could still get 10 - 12 points, although most likely 6 - 8 points. The problem is that Burnley still have to play alot of teams who will have nothing to play for come their run in and the potential banana skin of Stevie G gifting them points to put us down. Honestly wouldn't put it past the man with the hate he has for us.

It just makes that stupid defeat by Burnley more irritating knowing that if would be virtually safe.?
We'd be 10 points clear going into the Leicester game. Basically we'd be safe. Still, the United result is something to build on and Burnley losing today will help massively. It basically puts us where we expected to be had we beat Burnley and lost to United and had they beat Norwich.

This time last week, I think most of us would have taken beating Burnley, losing to United and expecting Burnley to beat Norwich. The end result of that would have been us 4 points ahead of Burnley. So we’ve achieved the end result but probably not in the way anyone would have anticipated.
Shows how much of a waste of time it is trying to predict results for the rest of the season as well.

We're off for 10 days, they play PSV and Newcastle before us, which will both be tough, high-energy games

Moody midweek Goodison can get us through

Good point. Newcastle is away so loads of travelling for them aswell which helps and will mean Brenton will probably put a mix and match line up out.

That said I was worried about yesterday second half due to it being 3 game in 6 days and United having a free week to prepare and in the end it dosen't matter if team that is fresher can't be arsed so who knows. When teams are confident and winning they tend to like the rhythm of playing every 3-4 days.

That's true. Chelsea excellent team but aside from yesterday they don't score 3-4 on regular basis so need to keep it tight like v Man. City. Think their record at Goodison is as bad as Arsenal's in recent seasons so one of those need to keep tight at 0-0 and see what happens on the break.

Also pretty much the youth team out earlier in the season down there and somehow got a 1-1 so that was the one result I thought fair play from FSW although ultimate false dawn and indeed the last point won away from home four months ago!

Edit: Just had a look at away match. Got a 1-1 at Chelsea with all of Gbamin, Onyango, Dobbin, Branthwaite.....and Iwobi on the pitch at the end!?

And conceded just the once with a back 4 of Kenny, Holgate, Keane and Godfrey.
And Branthwaite.

In fairness we could have been 3 or 4 nil down by the time they scored their first.

Bookies usually have a clearer head on these things - last night the best price on us being relegated equated to a 33% chance. After today's game it's 27.4%. A lot higher than is comfortable, but we're in a much stronger position than Burnley.
