Such a lovely contrast to the feeling after the last Newcastle home game from last season. I was convinced we were gone after that.
Is good to actually like this team again, still get frustrated with them sometimes with the passing ect. But is a massive difference now have the confidence and fight, just really happy with this team tonight

So we’ve picked up 20 points out of 15 games so far.

20/15 = 1.33 ppg

23 games left

23 X 1.33 = 30.59 points

Plus the 10 we have on the board.

Keep up how we’ve been doing and we’ll finish on 40/41 points, even if the PL dismiss our appeal. Will be more than enough this season.

Yeah. I try not to give in to the thoughts of going down but that game was so sad, Goodison was empty, players looked to be fighting with each other., thought we were truly truly gone.

There is absolutely no logic for this to be the case. None. There will be absolute murder. I think it'll be down to six in January, or 5 + 5 suspended a year.

Could it all have been tactical? Holding off the expenditure of a proper defence to see what the 'worst' is, and then if it seems ruinous but with the inevitable holes, throw everything at the appeal.

The PL will also want to show they are uncompromising but have a 'precedent' to go more lenient on City.

Imagine if our appeal fails and they deduct even more points

Just gotta make sure we don't say 'Jehovah' at the hearing.

"This protest was big enough for Jehovah!"
"HE SAID IT AGAIN. YOU'RE ONLY MAKING IT WORSE!"
"Worse? How can it be worse?...."

You know the rest.

Which is a large part of the absurdity of it. The fact its a disgrace etc etc aside, there is for me little doubt that our performance at the time of the appeal conclusion will inform their decision. That in itself makes a mockery of the whole league and the bottom teams must be livid not knowing what's going on too. (Not that I don't think we'll have enough anyway)

Fiasco on top of farce.

…..20 points at Christmas is always my benchmark for avoiding relegation, if it’s close to 25 points then we’d be in the EL mix. Massive improvement this season, just a shame they’ve given our total a severe haircut.

There’ll still be plenty of ups and downs this season but if we can top the mini-league with Luton, Sheff Utd and Burnley we’re safe. It’ll be great if a few other clubs are pulled into it, the more the merrier.

Earning points in this league is so difficult. We have earned 20 points this year and find ourselves in 17th position with 10 points. Lots of work to do yet to be safe but Dyche and the squad are doing an excellent job so far
