We won't go down even with points deduction. Our away-record is very decent.
That's true...or at least it was before every game became a cup final as they are now.

That likelihood of points on the road though + the undoubted fact (for me) that Burnley and Sheff Utd are way too weak to get out of the relegation spots are the two things I'll hold onto in this very bleak period.

Dave….this ten point deduction business has become very real to me after this weekend, having spent the last nine days very relaxed and firmly in the “good season to lo be docked 10 points” camp.

Luton’s win to go five points clear of us has hit me in the gob like a wet kipper.

What do you think are the chances of some of our docked points being returned to us on appeal?

I've started to think this way to an extent but I think perspective on Luton is that they were always going to win some games this season, the timing isn't great but so far there's no indication they have it within them to go on a winning run.

Think Luton will start winning some games at home now. Good news at least is they have Arsenal and Man. City up next...but of course they were leading RS up to 96th minute so you never know.

They also have Sheffield united and Burnley away in next six weeks so this is a critical period...4 points on the road and two home wins and they're pretty much on 20 points with about 15 games left.

People underestimate the chances of Luton getting some good points between here and New Year. Sure, we'll assume they get nothing from Arsenal and City, but Brentford, Sheffield United and Burnley represent a nine-point opportunity. You wouldn't expect them to get anything like nine points, of course, but seven is not beyond the pale (even if it is unlikely). If they do manage, say, 5-7 points in those six games, we need to be matching that - at least - in our run of matches (Forest, Newcastle, Chelsea, Burnley, Spurs, and City). I wouldn't back us to - but a win at Forest would go a long way to assuaging our concerns.

Nightmare scenario is we get, say, 3 points from these next six and Luton pick up 7 or more. We could find ourselves 10 points from safety going into the Wolves match on the 30th. A panic spiral becomes inevitable then - especially as referees and other sides start to get the stench of death off us...
