I've just read from some twitter bloke named Sport O'fact or something Mark Clattenburg has agreed to ref all our matches for the rest of the season.

i wonder where football officials rate on the professional credibility list ?
i am sure they are way below second hand car salesmen, lawyers and politicians to name a few

Bit off the subject but is the game in any danger with the rain you have had and are getting in the next few days.

Hard to say. I live around 25 miles from Carlisle, in the eastern Lake District. It simply hasn't stopped raining here, rivers and lakes are overflowing once again. The flood warnings for Carlisle itself have been withdrawn, but more rain is forecast tomorrow and Saturday so the situation could yet change.

On the bright side, Sunday itself looks good until mid afternoon, so hopefully the pitch will remain playable. I have absolute faith in our groundstaff, and the club are making arrangements for shuttlebusses and various other things which gives the impression that they are confident the game will be on.

I will post on this forum if I hear or see anything that has a potential effect on Sunday's prospects...

Your username always makes me hungry.

Fortunately for you CUFC are not able to provide hot food at the moment, so you won't have to suffer what passes for nourishment from our food stalls in the 21st century...

When I first started attending as a child in the 80's, the Brunton Pasty was the stuff of local legend... our current menu is a little less appetising, though the bacon butties consist of half a pig in a roll, good value to say the least!

Lucky for you I've just finished my tea. :)

The car park at the ground is closed due to the floods unfortunately. Limited street parking around the ground at the best of times but non-existent at the moment due to the presence of dozens of skips full of stuff damaged by the waters. Don't be tempted by the Tesco at the East end of Warwick Road, they watch it like hawks on match days. There is a car park on the industrial estate opposite the Tesco store, this will leave a good 15 minute walk to the ground though.

I hate to say it, but for this one I'd say the park and ride is the best option.

Brunton Park has to be one of the easiest football grounds to get to - and indeed find. Go up the M6 - Carlisle (2nd turn off IIRC - first one approaches the city from the South) turn off for Warwick Road (go left). The football ground is on the right...about 3 stones throws from the motorway!!

Also one of the nicest views if we lose 3-0 again.
